1
Cut two folded card bases from paper: one measuring 4.7 x 9.4 inches (12 × 24 cm) - score at 4.7 inches (12 cm), and one measuring 5.1 x 9.8 inches (13 × 25 cm) - score at 4.9 inches (12.5 cm).
2
Close the smaller card. From the centre fold, draw the first layer of the cake: 3.1 inches wide and 1.2 inches high (8 cm wide and 3 cm high).
3
Cut along the drawn lines through both layers of the card. Open the card and push the cut section forward to create a pop-up.
4
Draw the second layer of the cake 2.3 inches from the centre fold and 0.7 inches high (6 cm from the centre fold and 2 cm high). Do this on one side of the pop-up only.
5
Draw three small notches (candles) on the second layer and carefully cut them out.
6
Cut two strips of paper: one measuring 3 x 1 inches (7.5 × 2.5 cm) and one measuring 2.1 x 0.6 inches (5.5 × 1.5 cm). Glue these onto the two layers of the cake.
7
Decorate the cake further with markers, pens, or punched shapes.
8
Fold the smaller card closed and glue it into the centre of the larger card.
