Make an Advent Calendar with Christmas House Decorations
Make a unique Advent calendar with 24 festive doors using kraft paper and cardstock. This DIY is perfect for Christmas crafting and instantly adds extra atmosphere to your home. Decorate the doors with Christmas houses and stamps, and count down to Christmas in a creative way during the festive season.
Take a sheet of kraft cardstock measuring 12 x 12 inches (30.5 x 30.5 cm) and copy the grid as shown in the image. First draw the horizontal lines. From the top edge, measure 0.8 inch (2 cm), 2 inches (5 cm), 0.6 inch (1.5 cm), 2 inches (5 cm), 0.6 inch (1.5 cm), 2 inches (5 cm), 0.6 inch (1.5 cm), 2 inches (5 cm) and 0.8 inch (2 cm), and draw a line at each mark. Then do the same from the left edge for the vertical lines, using the distances 0.8 inch (2 cm), 1.2 inches (3 cm), 0.6 inch (1.5 cm), 1.2 inches (3 cm), 0.6 inch (1.5 cm), 1.2 inches (3 cm), 0.6 inch (1.5 cm), 1.2 inches (3 cm), 0.6 inch (1.5 cm), 1.2 inches (3 cm), 0.6 inch (1.5 cm), 1.2 inches (3 cm) and 0.8 inch (2 cm). Cut away the excess strips on the right and bottom sides.

Score all the drawn lines using the Score Easy.

Draw the same grid on a sheet of white cardstock and score this sheet with the Score Easy as well.

Use a craft knife to cut the doors out of the kraft paper. Cut three sides of each door and leave one side intact as a hinge.

Stamp a Christmas image in each square of the white cardstock. Alternate between different stamps and colours for a playful effect.

Attach the kraft paper with the doors to the white sheet, so a stamped image is visible behind each door. Use double-sided tape for this.

Choose three colours of cardstock and use the house dies to die-cut 24 houses in total.

Trace the houses onto the back of the glitter paper, cut them out slightly smaller and glue them behind the die-cut houses.

Stamp the numbers 1 to 24 on a sheet of white cardstock, leaving enough space between the numbers.

Punch out all the numbers with a circle punch.

Cut a sheet of red cardstock to 12 x 11.6 inches (30.5 x 29.5 cm). Then cut an opening from the centre, 0.8 inch (2 cm) from the edge, to create a frame.

Glue the red frame over the Advent calendar. Then arrange the houses and numbers across the 24 doors and glue them in place. Your Advent calendar is now ready to open a new door every day!
