Design your own elegant save the date card for a wedding or other special occasion using linen paper, golden accents, and handwritten text in a decorative frame.
1
Cut a sheet of off-white watercolor paper (30.5 x 30.5 cm) to 23 x 16 cm. Score down the middle and fold to create a card measuring 11.5 x 16 cm.
2
Take blue linen paper and use the second-largest rectangular die along with the second-largest window-shaped die (excluding the scalloped edge). Place the window die centered near the bottom of the rectangle and die-cut.
3
Take matte gold mirror paper. Use the same rectangular die again, but now with the smaller window-shaped die. Use the blue cutout to position the smaller die correctly on the gold paper, making sure there's an even golden border around it. Then remove the blue paper and die-cut.
4
Glue the blue paper onto the gold piece so the golden window frame becomes visible.
5
Write your text inside the window opening, by hand or with the help of a lightbox. Use a hand lettering pen for decorative text and a fineliner for smaller writing. Make sure the placement is neat and centered.
6
Attach the blue-and-gold layer to the white card using foam tape. This adds a bit of depth to your card.
7
Die-cut golden flowers and glue them on both sides of the window frame.
8
Add extra decoration using Liquid Pearls. In this example, they are placed along the top curve of the window, below the flower stems, and in the bottom corners of the frame.
