Crafting a dragonfly

Create a colourful dragonfly using paper and paint, and explore different textures and shades. This simple craft is perfect for crafting with children and encourages creativity in a playful way.

Fold a sheet of coloured paper in half and draw half a dragonfly along the fold.

Cut along the drawn dragonfly through both layers of paper.

Open the paper; your dragonfly now appears as a whole.

Apply paint to one side of the dragonfly. You can use a generous amount.

Carefully fold the dragonfly closed and press firmly. Watch out: the paint may spill.

Open the dragonfly and let the paint dry.
