Create an original birthday card with a moustache pattern that you make yourself. Fun to do and extra special to give!
1
For this card, we’ll start by making a small stencil with the moustache punch. Cut a strip of paper measuring 5.7 x 1.6 inches (14.5 x 4 cm). Mark the centre and add a small line 0.2 inches (0.5 cm) to the left and right.
2
Each moustache is 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide. Measure this from your marks and leave 0.4 inches (1 cm) of space between each moustache.
3
Draw guide lines through the middle of each moustache (0.5 inches / 1.25 cm) and extend them upwards.
4
Line up the punch with the centre line and punch out the moustaches.
5
Place the stencil on a piece of kraft paper measuring 5.7 x 5.7 inches (14.5 x 14.5 cm).
6
Use a blending tool to apply black ink, moving the stencil upwards until the whole paper is covered.
7
Cut a piece of white paper measuring 2 x 4.5 inches. Hand-letter the text “Have a fan-tache-tic birthday” on it. You can sketch it in pencil first if you like.
8
Punch this piece of paper into a tag with a tag punch. Punch another moustache from black paper and stick it at the top of the tag.
9
Add foam tape to the back of the tag.
10
Tie a piece of jute twine to the tag and stick it onto the card. Secure the twine at the back.
11
Finally, attach the stencilled kraft paper to a folded base card measuring 6.1 x 6.1 inches (15.5 x 15.5 cm) with double-sided tape.
