Paper portrait bookmark

For the dads who like to read, we have created these fun bookmarks. The best thing, of course, is if the bookmark looks exactly like him! Choose a nice print for the tie and use plain paper for the head. Cut out the shapes and stick them together in layers, as shown in the example. To make it easy, you can use different punches for the circles and the bow, for example. Use pencil, paint, markers or scraps of paper for the face. And don't forget his smile!

Key ring made of fuse beads

With a key ring, your father has his present with him every day. Start by applying the letters DAD in fuse beads on the base plate. These determine the size of your key ring. Then make the outline in the shape of a label and leave a space open at the tip for the key ring. Fill in the remaining areas with colours that you like. Just iron it and you're done.

Hand-lettered beer labels

Choose your father's favourite drink and make these cheerful labels yourself. Start by peeling off the label that was originally on the bottle. Do this with cold water, so that the drink is not spoilt. Put the bottle under water and make sure that the top of the bottle remains above water. Meanwhile, make the labels using sticker paper. Determine the size and draw or write something on it by hand, or choose nice phrases and print them out. You can then use a light box to trace and colour them in. Finish off by sticking the labels on the bottles.

Homemade coasters or wall tiles

A fun craft project to make with the children! Choose a number of tiles, for example in the size 15x15 cm. Cut out the same sized squares from ordinary printer paper and get the children to make nice drawings for daddy on them. Spread a layer of Mod Podge on top of the tile and place the drawing on it. Press firmly. Once this is dry, you can also protect the drawing with a layer of Mod Podge, making the coaster water resistant. Finish off the coasters by sticking a layer of felt underneath, so they don't scratch the table. TIP: turn the coaster into a wall tile by replacing the layer of felt with an adhesive hook. You can then hang the tiles on the wall.

String art wall decoration

For fathers who like beer, make this cool wall decoration in the shape of a beer bottle. And he can keep all his bottle tops in it! You need the following: a board, wood paint, pencil, nails and hammer, paper of the same size as the board, painter's tape or washi tape and a roll of thin string. Paint the board in a colour of your choice and allow it to dry fully. Meanwhile, draw the outline of a beer bottle on the paper. Stick the paper to the board with a few pieces of tape. You now have a handy template for nailing. Follow the outline and drive nails through the paper into the wood every 1 to 2 centimetres. Leave the top of the bottle 'open'. When you are finished, remove the paper. You can now start wrapping the string. Create a nice pattern and make the structure dense enough so that the caps cannot fall out. Again, make sure that the top remains open. Now your gift is ready. Bet your dad will love it!
