Valentine’s Day Shaker Card

Valentine’s Day Shaker Card

The most beautiful Valentine’s cards are, of course, the ones you make yourself. In this DIY tutorial, we show you how to create an original Valentine’s card: a fun shaker card. Filled with cute heart-shaped confetti, it’s perfect for anyone who loves Valentine’s crafting — and it’s much easier to make than it looks! Finish it with a sweet message or, of course, the classic question: “Will you be my Valentine?”

1
Cut a piece of cardstock measuring 5.9 inch by 9.8 inch (15 by 25 cm). Score or fold the 9.8 inch (25 cm) side of the sheet at 4.9 inch (12.5 cm). This is your base card.
2
Cut a 3.7 by 2.9 inch (9.5 by 7.5 cm) rectangle from another colour of cardstock.
3
Then cut a square hole at 0.6 inch (1.5 cm) from the top, left and right. From the bottom, you do this at 1.2 inch (3 cm). You now have a hole measuring 1.8 by 2.1 inch (4.5 by 5.5 cm).
4
Cut out a piece of clear plastic (here we use transparent shrink plastic) that is just a little larger than the hole. Stick it onto the back with double-sided tape.
5
Then stick foam tape on the edges of the card. Make sure that the corners fit well.
6
Punch out some hearts and place them on the shrink plastic.
7
Cut out a piece of cardstock and stick it onto the foam tape. This gives the hearts a closed 'space' so you can shake your card safely.
8
Stick the shaker on the card and finish your creation with a nice text. Shake it, baby!
