This pencil topper made with paper stars and colourful ribbon turns any pencil into a party. Fun to make and perfect for handing out!

Choose two colours of cardstock you like (in this example, Grapefruit and River were used). Punch two stars from the paper for each pencil.

Use satin ribbon from the “Summer” set. Cut a 4.7 inch (12 cm) piece from each colour. Use all colours once per pencil. If you’d like a fuller look, you can add extra ribbons.

Place the stars textured side down. Apply some glue to one star and stick the ribbon pieces on in a random order. Let it dry for a moment.

Lay a pencil in the middle of the star and add some glue around the pencil (but not underneath it).

Stick the second star on top and gently shape the paper around the pencil. Press down firmly until the glue holds.

Trim all ribbon ends to the same length – and your cheerful pencils are ready to shine!
