Creating a Pop-up Card with a Heart

Creating a Pop-up Card with a Heart

Let yourself be inspired by this step-by-step DIY and dive into the world of Valentine’s Day crafting. In just a few simple steps, you can create a pop-up card with a magical heart — perfect for showing your love in a personal and heartfelt way.
Ready, set, DIY!

1
For this crafting project, we'll be using the Crealies Cardzz Squashfold Card Hearts, measuring 4.7 x 4.7 inches (12 x 12 cm). Begin by cutting out the large base shape twice from the Tonic Studios paper with hearts. Pay close attention to the pattern direction for a neat cutout.
2
Next, take a sheet of gold mirror cardstock and punch out the heart shapes in the next size two times.
3
Now, take the smallest hearts and once again use the Tonic Studios paper to punch out these shapes two times.
4
Fold all the scored lines of the two base shapes from step 1 and adhere them together using the 'flaps.' For the best results, attach the flaps to the back with glue or double-sided tape.
5
Grab the gold hearts from step 2 and affix them with glue or double-sided tape onto the base shape.
6
Take the smallest hearts from step 3 and glue them on top of the gold hearts.
7
Take a sheet of black cardstock paper and stamp a sweet message on it with VersaMark ink.
8
Sprinkle embossing powder over the stamped ink and remove excess powder by tapping the back of the paper.
9
Use a heat tool to heat the embossing powder until it shines beautifully.
10
Now, once again take the smallest heart shape from the cutting die and cut out the text. Ensure that the message is slightly below the center of the heart; it doesn't need to fill the entire paper heart.
11
Trim the excess paper and repeat this step with a sheet of gold mirror cardstock, making it slightly wider than the black paper.
12
Then, overlay both pieces of paper on top of each other within the heart.
13
Now, take another sheet of black cardstock and cut it to 10.6 x 6.1 inches (27 x 15.5 cm). Score it lengthwise at 5.3 inches (13.5 cm) to create a card.
14
Attach the large heart to the card.
15
To close the card, punch two holes on the side and tie it shut with a piece of twine or ribbon. Enjoy the giving!
