Christmas card with gift design

Christmas card with gift design

Make your own DIY Christmas card with a creative gift box design. Using glitter paper, embossing and twine, this handmade Christmas card is the perfect project for adding festive cheer to your crafts.

1
Place a sheet of white cardstock in the embossing folder with the text ‘Jingle Bells’ and run it through the embossing machine.
2
Cut the embossed cardstock to 5.7 x 5.7 inches (14.5 x 14.5 cm). Take a sheet of red glitter paper and cut it to 6 x 6 inches (15 x 15 cm).
3
Take a blank double card of 6.1 x 6.1 inches (15.5 x 15.5 cm). First glue the glitter paper onto it, then the embossed cardstock.
4
Use the embossing folder with graphic stars, place another sheet of white cardstock in it and run through the embossing machine.
5
Cut several squares and rectangles from the pattern, for example 1.4 x 1.4 inches (3.5 x 3.5 cm) or 1.4 x 1.8 inches (3.5 x 4.5 cm), as long as the pattern is nicely cut out.
6
Take the red glitter paper again and cut squares that are exactly half a centimetre larger than the white embossed squares. For example, 4 x 4 cm.
7
Glue the white embossed squares and rectangles onto the red glitter ones. Turn them into presents by tying little bows with red and white baker’s twine.
8
Now stick the presents onto the card. To add dimension, use one or more layers of foam tape.
