Watercolor brushes have sable hair. Round or flat brushes made of boar bristles are used for visualizing the brush stroke or to brush with oil or acrylic paint. On the other hand, the synthetic nylon brushes are meant to make a brush stroke invisible.
Sponge brush
The sponge brush has no hair at all. Some brushes have nice names, such as the cat tongue brush and the block brush.
Stencil brush
It is the best to use a boar bristle stencil brush in combination with an (adhesive) template. The hair of the brush is cut straight, which enables you to make a tipping or rotating motion. The stencil brush is available in six different diameters.
