Making Christmas ornaments from wooden beads

Making Christmas ornaments from wooden beads

Christmas ornaments made from wooden beads fit any interior. Choose a beautiful color of satin ribbon and start counting, knotting and threading. These ornaments are also fun to give as gifts or to decorate a special Christmas present with.

1
Thread groups of wooden beads (of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 beads respectively) on a satin ribbon of about 1 meter. Use a darning needle for this to make threading easy. You can scale up the project by adding an additional group of beads of +1 bead each time.
2
Now start threading the satin ribbon back by starting at the loose bead. This will keep a piece of ribbon visible that can be slid to the top or back.
3
Connect the next group of two beads and also thread the ribbon through this in the other direction.
4
Repeat step 3 until all rows are double laced.
5
Take 1 more loose bead and pull both ends through. This will form the trunk of the little tree.
6
Now feed the ribbon counter-threaded through the middle bead of the row above, preventing the bottom bead from sliding.
7
Make a bow with the ends of the ribbon and the tree of beads is ready! Trim excess pieces of ribbon neatly.
8
Take 12 beads and a piece of ribbon slightly longer than a meter . Thread the beads onto the piece of ribbon.
9
Make a knot at the end of the ribbon, creating a circle of beads. Then thread the ribbon back through the bead right next to the knot.
10
Thread two new beads onto the ribbon. Then thread back through the third bead next to the knot.
11
Repeat step 2.3 for the entire circle around, until you get the above result.
12
Now the points of the star are made. Thread again through the first inner bead of the "base" circle AND through the first bead of the second circle. Thread a new bead on the ribbon.
13
Go back through the other bead of the second circle and the next bead of the base circle. Repeat these two steps for the rest of the circle. When you reacht the end of the circle, make a bow with the ends of the ribbon.
14
Grab a gift tag and stamp a nice Christmas greeting on it.
