Macrame halloween ghosts

Macrame halloween ghosts

It’s almost Halloween! That means it is time to get spooky with these DIY ghosts. Follow the steps below and get creative with our own Vaessen Creative macrame cord. The ghosts will be finished in no time! Hang them on the wall or place them on the windowsill to decorate your home.

1
You will need 10 short pieces of macrame cord of 8.7″ each and a 6.3″ piece of aluminium wire.
2
Hold the 10 short pieces together. Wrap the end of the cord on the spool around the 10 small pieces two or three times and glue it together with a glue gun.
3
Glue one end of the aluminium wire in between the 10 short cords. This will keep the cord in its place when you start bending it into shape later.
4
Continue wrapping the long cord, that is still on the spool, around the ten short pieces and the aluminium wire. Make sure you don’t wrap it until the end – leave the ends of the cords to brush them out later. Once you are finished, cut the long cord and glue it to the shorter pieces like in step 3.
5
Bend the wrapped cord in half to form a U-shape and glue the insides together.
6
Repeat steps 2-4 to make the second row. You will need 10 cords of 9.8″ each and a 7.5″ piece of aluminium wire.
7
Bend the wrapped cord in half to form a U-shape and glue it to the outer edge of the first row.
8
Again repeat steps 2-4 to make the third row. You will need 10 cords of 15″ each and a 13″ piece of aluminium wire.
9
Bend the wrapped cord to make the arms, as shown in the picture. Finally, glue it to the outer side of the second row.
10
Brush out the remaining ends of the short cords and cut them to the same length.
11
Cut shapes out of black felt to add a face or other details to your ghost.
