Tim Holtz Distress Oxide from Ranger is a dye ink and pigment ink in one. Distress Oxide stamping ink reacts with water just like Distress Ink. The difference is in the coverage and the effects you are able to achieve. Distress Oxide is an opaque stamping ink that is very easy to blend. You can achieve an oxidised, chalky effect by spraying water over the ink. Once you add water the ink continues to react, for hours or even days. Use Distress Oxide with stamps, stencils or directly on light or dark paper.

Distress products are ideal for mixed media projects where several types of materials and techniques are combined. For instance, you can use a combination of Distress Oxide and Distress Ink or sprays, which have all been developed using the same colours. The products can be applied in layers on top of each other for achieving more depth or colour in your work. They are ideal for a wide range of craft projects such as card making and scrapbooking. The ink pad can easily be filled with the matching Oxide re-inker. These are available separately and come in all Distress colours.
