Clasps

Creating a piece of jewelry involves making many decisions along the way. You have to choose your colors, your style, the size of your piece and more. One thing that often gets overlooked, but is incredibly important, is the type of jewelry clasp you decide to use. Sometimes the clasps are so nice, your piece won't need much else to make it beautiful.

Clasps

Traditionally, a lobster clasp was most often used. Barrel clasps screw together for a secure fit much like a nut and bolt connection. They look great and add style to nearly all types of necklaces. A toggle clasp is sometimes a piece of jewelry in its own right. The simplest form is a ring and a rod, but they also come in special shapes, such as hearts or stars.

Beautiful Magnetic Clasps

A magnetic clasp is the easiest clasp to use. This clasp sometimes functions as both the fastener and an end cap, or it may include a small ring that you can tie the wire or cord to. Simple and smooth or decorated with rhinestones.
