There are many types of paint, techniques and brushes. Watercolour brushes have sable hair. Round or flat brushes made of boar bristles are used to accentuate the brush stroke or to brush with oil or acrylic paint. On the other hand, the synthetic nylon brushes are meant to make a brush stroke invisible. Some brushes have nice names, such as the filbert brush and the block brush.
