Modeling

Would you like to try modeling in clay or plaster? With Vaessen Creative you’ve come to the right place. Here you can find various silicone molds (flexible) and plaster molds (not flexible) on a variety of themes and from different brands, such as Powertex, Cernit, Martha Stewart and Mod Podge. Fun 3D objects are simple to make using the casting molds and you can then paint them, for example with acrylic paint.

You can have great fun being creative by adding your own decorative details to projects. The texture mats from Cernit, measuring 9x9cm, are perfect for adding structure and decorative elements to a painting, an image or a scrapbook page. They’re flexible, washable and can be used with any kind of soft clay. With relief paste you can create structure effects on smooth surfaces, such as canvas or papier, or on indoor and outdoor objects. With modeling tools you can add various designs to the still moist relief paste.

A modeling set is very useful to have at home for modeling projects. And there are more handy tools at Vaessen Creative, such as a clay gun extruder, a clay cutting knife and a clay machine. The clay gun extruder is easy to use, easy to clean, and ideal for clay modeling. The clay gun extruder is supplied with 19 discs with different shapes of holes, which are easy to swap and with which you can produce endless decorative effects in a variety of shapes. The clay cutting knife is essential for cutting polymer clay and the clay machine is suitable for rolling out clay.

Are you looking for inspiration? At Vaessen Creative you can find various Powertex books that you can consult for inspiration.

Silicone molds

The most modern material that a casting mold can be made of is silicone rubber. The objects that you can make with the silicone molds must not be too large or heavy, because otherwise the silicone shape will be deformed. An advantage of silicone molds is that they are durable and can be used over and over again. Other advantages are that the objects cast can easily be removed from the silicone molds and that silicone molds lend themselves very well to small, detailed decorative objects such as hearts, flowers and letters of the alphabet.

Plaster casts

Vaessen Creative also has plaster molds in various shapes such as angels, suns and fish. When you use plaster molds to make plaster casts, you can heat the plaster molds with a hairdryer to loosen the plaster. As a material, plaster is easy to work with. Because plaster is a natural product, there may be minor variations in quality. When working with plaster, it’s important to have a proper proportion of plaster to water. Always be sure to store plaster in a cool, dry and dark place.
